      Job experience

Captain De Rossi joined the Italian Navy after finishing the Nautical College to attend the Officer’s Course at the Naval Academy. Once graduated as Navigating Officer he served four and half years on different War ships and most recently obtained the deep-sea Diver certificate being on the divers team. He left the Navy as Lieutenant JG to then join the Merchant Navy on a Ro/Ro Ship. Captain De Rossi later started working in the offshore oil industry in 1992 and he has achieved a lot of very good experience in the different operational environments, both in drilling and pipelay/construction activities. He has obtained the Master Mariner certificate in 1995. He has working experiences on Jack-up, Drilling Ships, Semi submersible Drilling Rigs, pipelay, Heavy Lift Ships and diving support. He is  also specialised as full DP Operator since 1997, and since then he has been working on DP Unit class 3 and class 2. His present serving position is as Master on a fifth generation DP Drilling Ship, responsible for the safety, security, stability, dynamic positioning, marine operations, and seaworthiness of the Ship. He has achieved a Master of Science degree (pass with merit) at the Middlesex University in London and he is presently a candidate for a Professional Doctorate at the same University.
